General

In our league, we aim for 2 things with the format:

  • The league should be limited in time
  • Teams should play opponents of their own skill level as much as possible

In order to do this in season 4, we created 2 division with minimal deviation from median MMR for all teams. Because of this, 7 teams will play in division 1 and 4 teams will play in division 2. To limit the length for both division, top 4 of division 1 will move to a SINGLE elimination bracket. Division 2 will have a DOUBLE elimination bracket. This way, the length of the tournament will be 7-9 weeks for both divisions.

Group stages are BO1.
Play-offs are BO1.
The final is BO3.

After 7-9 weeks, the league is done. The number of games depends on your performance both in group stage and play-offs. It is possible you play 1 team more than once, in different stages of the league.

2. Game Schedule

2.1 Format

2.1.1 The structure of the tournament is split over 2 stages. The first is a round robin group stage with 7 teams in division 1 and 4 teams in division 2, followed by a single elimination bracket playoff for division 1 and a double elimination bracket playoff for division 2.
2.1.2 The top 4 in the group stage will place in the upper bracket of the playoffs.
2.1.3 The teams are split into separate divisions. The divisions are seeded on MMR and, if possible, results from previous seasons.

2.2.2 If either team cannot play on Sunday, the team captain must initiate the rescheduling. The game must be played in the week before the Sunday.
